Abstract

This study analyzes educational courses focused on school coordinators of environmental education that have been organized by the “Pavučina” Association of Centers for Environmental Education in 2006-2009. The main part of the research uses the methodology of grounded theory. It analyzes the way the alumni interpret the course, factors that influenced their interpretation and application of the course material in their work. A supplementary part contains an expert assessment of course essays and the other written work of the alumni.
The research shows that alumni usually evaluate the benefits of their study for their professional growth and for improving the quality of environmental education in their schools positively. However, according to the expert assessment, they still have a lack of skills needed for designing environmental education programs.
