Use and evaluation of the quality of open educational resources in the context of universities: the situation at Charles University
Main Article Content
Abstract
The article analyzes the current state and possibilities offered by the use of the open educational resources (OER) within the educational process on the university level, focusing on the situation at Charles University. First, the issue of OER is discussed in the context of higher education and OER quality assessment. Subsequently, the results of thematic research carried out within Charles University focused on mapping these sources and analysis of selected aspects of their quality are presented. The results show that the main open educational resources used in Charles University are wiki systems. The best functioning wiki system, which also has a sophisticated quality assurance system, is “WikiSkripta”. The authors also suggest that the existing criteria for the quality of educational resources need to be modified in an open environment and the new ones, those that reflect specific properties of these resources, especially their fluid, time-varying nature, should be added.
