Abstract

Much environmental information is acquired via the media as well as via Internet. However, face-to-face social interactions play still an important role, especially in the case of promoting pro-environmental behavioral patterns. This study introduces four general communication models and analyzes them in relation to their suitability for use in environmental education. The models discussed and analyzed are: Bühler´s communication model, the Chartrand and Bargh model, Brunswik´s lens model, and the Kenny general interactional model.
