Abstract

The aim of the study was to create a Czech translation of the Relatedness Nature Scale (Nisbet et al., 2009) and verify its reliability and validity on a sample of undergraduate students (n = 357) of different majors. The results showed that the Czech version of the scale can be with some limitations used when testing emotional, cognitive and experiential connection with nature. In the sample the scale was able to differentiate between students of sciences and engineering disciplines, namely. However, detailed analysis showed the lack of internal consistency of the subscales NR perspective, suggesting a possible problematic nature of this construct in the Czech cultural background.
