Abstract

Bedřich not only achieved, did, pushed through, or at least initiated an incredible number of things, but he also inspired and brought people together, transferring his energy and tenacious, sometimes even stubborn, efforts onto them.

Author Biography

Ladislav Miko, Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic

A natural scientist and environmental protection expert, he worked at the European Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment as Director of the Natural Resources and Biodiversity Unit from 2005; From May to November 2009, he was Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic, and from 2011 to 2017, he was Deputy Director-General of the Directorate-General for Health and Consumer Protection. In 2018, he was appointed Head of the European Commission Representation in Slovakia.
