Abstract

The text highlights Bedřich Moldan's contributions to environmental science and politics, emphasising the importance of a global (in scientific terms, interdisciplinary) approach and the value-based foundation of political activities, which must be grounded in reliable data and conclusions. This small contribution is intended to express gratitude for Professor Moldan's lifelong efforts and to congratulate him on his significant anniversary.

Author Biography

Jana Dlouhá, Charles University

She has been working in the Charles University Environment Center since 1992, focusing on environmental education. Her professional career began at the Central Geological Institute; after 1989, she was employed by the Federal Committee for the Environment.
