For understanding and solving the contemporary environmental crisis a proper interdisciplinary dialog is necessary. Unfortunately, barriers between the various disciplines remain strong and misinterpretations of "the others" are common. The evolutionary ecological biophilia hypothesis by American biologist Edward O. Wilson (Wilson 1984) provides an interesting view of the possible causes of human perception, relationship and behavior towards various natural phenomena. The biophilia hypothesis has a strong environmental moment , it asks similar questions to the new applied field of psychology - conservation psychology. The article analyses the biophilia concept in the light of E. O. Wilson's work as an interesting part of the sociocultural niveau of the late 20th century.Downloads
